Meet Miss S and Get Inspired by Her Confidence and Independence

Miss S was kind enough to share how her beauty session helped show her that she was strong, beautiful, and sexy — something she’d never seen herself as before. Read more about her inspiring story.

Why did you decide to do a boudoir/beauty session?

As a recent divorcee, I spent almost 20 years in a lopsided marriage. I wanted to do something that was outside of what I would have been expected to do before. I wanted to see myself from the vantage point that other people saw me from. I never considered myself beautiful, or sexy and I wanted to know if I had that in me.

How did you feel in the weeks or days leading up to your session?

I was very nervous going into my session. Doing something like this was definitely outside of what I would normally do. I kept thinking of excuses NOT to go through with it, but at the end of the day, I did.

Describe your experience during your session. Did you feel comfortable, awkward, empowered, confident, etc.? How did you feel with the posing guidance Whitney provided?

How to even explain this feeling?? It is a feeling like no other. Whitney is fantastic with her guidance. She makes sure that you are 100% comfortable with the poses she asks you to do. It was a workout for sure! But, it was so worth it. I walked away from that session feeling more empowered and with so much more confidence that I have ever had before.

How did you feel once you saw your finished photos during your ordering appointment? Were your expectations met?

This was the scariest part for me. I went into my ordering session thinking “I hope I have enough good pictures to fill a small album.” I honestly didn’t expect to see what was before me. There were a couple of times that I had to look twice at the woman in front of me on the screen to see who it really was. I couldn’t believe it was me! I am happy to report that not only did I have enough pictures to fill a small album, but we spent 2 hours narrowing down the pictures to 60!

What would you say to someone who wants to do a session, but feels hesitant or that they need to change things about themselves first?

I always tell people to do it…do it at least once in your life. Do something for yourself that no one can take away from you and do it only for yourself. Not for a boyfriend, husband, significant other or anyone else. Do it for YOU! It was so worth it and it was more than I could ever have asked for. You are who you are, don’t change yourself for pictures, or for people. Stay true to you.

Please share any other information you’d like for people to know!

It is an absolutely amazing experience. I wouldn’t change anything about it and I would absolutely do it again.
