Making the decision to book a beauty session is no small thing, and I totally get that. Here I will address the elephant in the room.
Let’s dive headfirst into a topic that many people feel awkward about.
Money.
I completely understand that a beauty photography session is a luxury experience. And I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the cheapest photographer in town either.
If you’re looking for a budget, low-end session experience, I’m not the right photographer for you. And that’s okay.
I told you it could get awkward. But just stick with me here.
Investing in a quality, high-end beauty photography session isn’t an “easy come, easy go” type of thing. And it shouldn’t be, for good reason.
As much as you’ll enjoy your session and be blown away by the end results, these photos are not for right now. They’re far more than just digital images—they’re a forever physical reminder of how you stepped outside your comfort zone and let your inherent beauty and strength shine through. Where you left your insecurities and self-limiting thoughts at the door and showed yourself who you really are—a fierce, bold, courageous, and sexy woman who deserves to love herself unconditionally.
This type of experience, whether it be a Dream Session or Dream Couture is something that many clients save up for. They have seen the quality and excellence of past clients’ photos and want the same for themselves.
Don’t have the money right now, well, we have created a list of some of our favorite tips and tricks that will help you save for your session.
Open a bank account devoted to your session. Out of sight, out of mind! Having an account just for your session will give you a place to put your money without the temptation of spending it. When you are mindful of saving, that account will grow quickly. This is also a great idea if you are wanting to offer the by-product of the session as a surprise gift to someone else. BUT keep in mind, this #1 needs to be a gift for YOU!
Get a piggy bank. You think I’m joking, but every little bit helps! Any time you have spare change or small bills, drop it in.
Make a home budget and stick with it. Again, those little things like eating out (bring your lunch or eat at home instead), purchasing apps, daily Starbucks trips (make your coffee at home), Target runs, and those monthly subscriptions add up fast. Cutting out those “small purchases” will save you a ton of money which will allow you to put money into your session account. AND How much are your spending on drinks when eating out? If you get water, you will save yourself a ton of money over time, especially if you have a family!
Purge your closets. Not only does decluttering your life bring you more peace, it also gives you a chance to make money. Have an online garage sale and get rid of stuff you don’t want or need anymore, and put the money back into your session account.
Cut out the temptations! If you are constantly getting the 40% off emails from Fashion Nova, you may be tempted to just take a peek. Before you know it, you’ve spent $100 that you could have put into your bank account. Unsubscribe (at least until your session is over), so you aren’t constantly being tempted to spend money you weren’t planning to spend, on a whim.
- Ask for Visa Giftcards. Instead of yet another gift card from iTunes or Target, ask for cash or Visa gift cards for your birthday or Christmas.
The truth is that if it’s something you really want, and if it means enough to you, you’ll find a way to make it happen, because you know it’s worth it.
